Baked with lots of love and decorated with royal
icing. Bake it to your loved ones and share the love!
Makes: 24 cookies
Preparation and cooking time: 40 minutes
Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Pinch of salt
½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
¼ stick butter
1 egg
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Royal icing:
In a heatproof bowl, melt the chocolate chips and
butter over a saucepan filled with simmering water. Make sure that the bottom
of the bowl is not touching the water. Stir the chocolate until it starts
melting, turn off the heat and continue stirring until no lumps remain. Keep the
melted chocolate aside.
In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder,
cocoa and salt together.
In another bowl, whisk the egg with the melted
chocolate well. Then add the dry ingredients gradually until it forms a dough.
Separate the dough into two halved
Spread each half to 1 cm inch thickness
Freeze the dough for 20 minutes
Preheat the oven to 190 C, cut the dough, bake it for
5-7 minutes or until you see the edges become brown (don’t burn them!)
Let the cookies cool, decorate with royal icing and serve them cold
So sweet for Valentine's day.
